We are planning on doing our Global Challenge badge during this term (Spring 2015) and one element of this badge is to find out about a technology which could include a personal computer, car engine or anything similar.  Is there any parent out there who is willing to help us take on this challenge and helping the Cubs to learn about a technology that is new to them, like how an engine works? It would entail coming in for one evening, about 1 hour, and explaining things to the Cubs and perhaps showing a few photos or diagrams to make it easier to understand!  Your help is needed!  Please contact Jackie or Carol to arrange!

Cub Scout badges and awards

There is a range of badges and awards available to young people in the Cub Scout Section.

Activity badges

Many of the badges available are activity badges, which allow Cub Scouts to show their progress in existing pursuits, but also to try all kinds of new things and form new interests.

Challenge awards

Gaining a challenge badge involves accomplishing a number of more ambitious tasks within the Pack or community. There are several challenge badges across a number of themes, from the physical and outdoorsy to challenges dealing with the local community or issues connected with the Scouting world.

Core badges

In addition, there are a number of special badges, obtained upon joining or moving on from the Pack, or for time spent in the Scouting movement.

Activity packs

Some activity badges are sponsored by outside companies, and these companies often provide extra exciting resource packs to help Cub Scouts towards gaining their badges.

Although we did not break the Penny Mile World Record, we managed to raise over £1000 as a result of all the hard work of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and friends of 1st Colerne Scouts who collected 1p coins for this challenge!  Well done!

Please use the Shop2Fundraise link for all your online shopping!

It costs you nothing extra, but each time you make a purchase, the company gives 1st Colerne Sea Scouts a percentage of what you have spent!  SIMPLES!
